Finally Pre-Approved for Sportsman's Guide Visa

Ok...let me start by saying that I've been trying for this one for MONTHS now....

Today I went in using internet explorer (I'd been using Firefox) and added my middle initial to my profile.

The popup finally came up...$2500 limit. Accepted right away and bought the pair of boots I was looking at.

705 EQ FICO with two old baddies, 19% UTIL. Kinda excited about this...lol. It's my first big boy limit...well, ever. lol.

Yay.

Heck yes..I've been trying ever since I started reading about the shopping cart trick which has been at least a year or so.

The next one I would love to get is the Total Rewards Visa. I apped and was denied a couple months back but I don't plan on applying again until one of my baddies falls off in December.

I now have two "major" credit cards with Comenity. The Total Rewards Visa would make the trifecta...lol.

Congrats! You do know the Total Rewards preapproval will result in a HP, correct?

Surprised they gave you the amount. When I got the pre-approval it didnt have an amount but they sent me a card with a 10k limit which is my highest limit. Second highest is chase marriot for 8k.

When I got the pop up It didn't show my limit right away, can you clarify? If you didn't like the CL would you of had the opportunity to decline?

OP try for a CLI when you activate it before your next use. I've heard a few success stories that way (mine was declined), but with other Comenity backed Visa cards I've been able to get the CL nearly doubled before I even used it.

They didn't. I was able to call in right after and find out.

Yes, unfortunately. I go to Vegas a couple tiimes of year so the few benefits it offers would be worth it. I don't have many INQ's on EQ so I'm willing to spare one.

Did it show you the CL you were going to be approved for in the pop-up?

I just got the pre-approved pop-up yesterday, but declined to app as while I would like a store card to round out my mix, I did not want to get approved only to find a 'toy' limit.

It didn't show me the limit. I ended up calling in right after. Since it's a Visa and it's harder to qualify for, I would imagine the smallest limit they would approve is $1,500. That's just speculative though...I've read through a few posts and most of the folks have gotten pretty decent limits.

Mine came with a $5k limit, which was much higher than any other store card not including GE cards. Being a Visa you can use it anywhere; with no HP either this is probably the easiest approval around.

This doesn't seem to be the case with my recent pre-approval($1200CL). I also got a small($250)cli via telephone before I recieved the card and plan to hit the luv button as soon as card arrives and I register online. I tried this after reading this post.

I say no HP because CK always reports any of my HP's the following day without failure.
