Chase Amazon CLI

I've had this card for just two years now. Got it on my birthday in March 2013. They started me with $1500. I hadn't asked for an increase until last week and even then all I asked for was an additional $1,000 to $2500. They didn't do a HP and granted it. Then many people here said I should have at least asked for $5k. So a few days ago I put another request in and they said it will be 7-10 days which I thought was weird since I requested it through their secure messages. Last week after I sent the message it took like 2 hours for them to get back. So I sent another request for the $5k. Still have not heard back. So just for the heck of it I sent another request at like 5am for get this, only another $500 and in like 30min they got back and said ok. They are really odd the way they do stuff, lol! Wonder if they'll ever answer the $5k request?

Congrats on the increase. Are you sure though that Chase Amazon is the only card from them you want though?

I don't think they'd approve me for another. Do they PC from the Amazon Visa? I have too many inquiries now and three new accounts since December. I actually couldn't believe BoA approved me with my scores not so great now and all the inquiries. I started with $1k from BoA in December and a few weeks ago they bumped me to $4500. When I started to rebuild my credit in 2012 I was really stupid the way I did it. Even since summer of last year when my score shot up I still did some stupid things. My goal is to be close to 750 by my 50th birthday in March 2017. I'm not too worried right now about having lots of cards and huge limits. If it takes a little time I'm ok with that. I am planning my NYC trip to see Letterman in a coupl weeks and will use BoA for the travel.

You've had the card for over two years. That's more than enough time to show Chase that you can manage their products and build up your internal score. They aren't as inquiry sensitive as people think they are IMO.

Check the prequals to see if you get any offers for Freedom and CSP if you want and if you think either one of those cards might suit your needs better. I'm just saying you could probably do even better than Amazon with all that history you have with Chase.

Would they PC to another card or I would have to apply for another card? Still kind of new to this part of the game. Should I speak to regular rep or call a backdoor number? Freedom easier to get ?

So I app'd for the Freedom. Got the 7-10 msg, called a number for recon and spoke to a girl there who really wasn't too helpful except to say that I have a chargeoff from Verizon, which as I explained was one reason I have a fraud alert on my cr file. Then she said another reason was several new inquiries and again I had to reiterate this is why I have a fraud alert on my account and then she says, "Ok, is there anything else I can help you with?" and ends the call. Should I call and speak to someone else, or wait until I get the letter? I'm trying to explain I have a Chase Amazon, they just upped my limit, I use Chase for my checking and she just seemed like, "So why are you calling?" Anyway, suggestions?

They always tend to be stingier with Freedom for some reason. It's also weird you can completely get denied for one card from chase but get another one instantly the same day on the same HP.

Congrats, I've had the same card for two years now also, after 8 months I had to use a HP to increase my CL from $500 to $2500.

Checked. There has been no HP. The first one was just a grand. The second one for $500 would have used the same HP anyway had they done that.

I kept thinking if I asked for too much then they wouldn't give me close to what I would be ok with. When I sent the message I didn't get that reply about checking credit. Someone responded almost right away and just said ok it's approved. Maybe I'm better off getting small increases in shorter time frames.

Amazon store told me the same thing . but when they meant "check your credit"

and "and inquiry will show" they didnt know it was a SP.

Hmmm...when i chatted .. the CS said they had no way of knowing what kind
of pull the CLI request would generate after she sends it into "the system".. (should be a movie)

Had the Chase Amazon since 2013 at $500 and sent a SM a week or so ago. I asked if there were any credit limit increase offers available without a SP. Got the same message as above

Also, the store card isn't Chase bank and I think most people get SP CLIs on it.
