Barclay's Card Reconsideration Line Works!

I've been lurking on this board for quite awhile. Thanks for all of the tips and the indirect encouragement!

I just wanted to share with everyone that I used the Barclay's Card Reconsideration Line and it worked! 866-408-4064

After having my credit score hit 600, I thought I'd try to apply for this card since it was one of the ones recommended by MyFico.com. I filled out the online app and was denied. Weird thing is that the denial letter showed my credit score as 626. I sulked for a week and then saw a forum post about a Reconsideration Line. I never heard of such a thing before that forum post. I googled and found the phone number.

I called and spoke to a customer rep for about 5 minutes. He was very nice. I was very polite and matter of fact during the conversation. We walked through my income and the credit report findings. I explained issues that I had during 2009-2010. He said that everything looks back on track.

At the conclusion of the call, he approved me for the BarclayCard Rewards MasterCard - $1,000. Not huge, but a whole lot better than the original denial.

Congrats! I had success with that line last month too. Sounds like Barclay's might have some quirks, but so far the customer service has been top-notch.

Congrats. I just got approved for 1,500. Is there a way I can try to get that increased? What would the best way to go about getting it increased?
