Quicksilver one CLI

My husband and I have been slowly (but steadily) working on rebuilding. I've cleaned quite a bit off my credit and was approved for a QS1 card 2 months ago with a $1000 CL. I'm in the credit steps program and perfectly happy with that. I logged on today to make a payment an noticed that my CL was more then it should be! They already gave me a CLI of $1000 so now I have ! I was in tears at work. It's so nice to see my hard work slowly paying off.

Great news! Keep up the great work! How did you know you were in the "credit steps" program? I just received 2 QS1 cards, but haven't heard anything about this program.

You should get an email concerning it shortly. My wifes came about two weeks after opening the account and the subject was "Info about your credit line..."

Even if you don't get a credit steps program email, you can request CLI's from the online account management page at any time. They will usually do CLI's at 6 month intervals. How much increase you get will depend mostly on account usage vs balance (high usage + low balance is best)

I received an email about 2 weeks after I activated the card I certainly wasn't expecting an increase but I will happily take it. I use the card to pay my bills and make several payments a month to keep the reporting balance down.

I use this card like my debit card that way I get the rewards and have a higher flow thru it. then when we get paid, we just pay down the card for what the total charges were. when my statement cut I had a little over $40 on the card.

Plat and QS 1 are rebuilder cards that go through the credit steps. They will send you an email a few weeks after you activate your card.

Thanks y'all! I was starting to get a bit bummed because I felt like the momentum stalled on mine. My husband's credit is so close to being 100% clean and we are preapproved for a mortgage. I'm trying to goodwill delete the last bad TL on his account. But if it needs to fall so be it.

I got my QS1 in Feb with a $500 limit. Per the credit steps email it is supposed to go to $750 after five months. Last week I hit the luv button and got a CLI to $1,500. Hopefully my credit steps bump will be even bigger.

Have you been using it heavily since you received it? Others have advised to use it heavily and make multiple payments throughout the month.

@Unfortunately, it's usually only another +$500. I was in credit steps, opened account in October. Requested an increase Feb and got an additional $1000, putting me @ $1500 before credit steps finished. Once I was past credit steps, another +$500 was added to my CL. I can contest to two of my cards going through the EXACT same routine. Luv button for an extra $+1000, then credit steps for the additional +$500. 2/3 of my cards are done with credit steps and both are @ $2k.

Yes. I put about $1,500 through over two months, but PIFed by the statement date. I think that's key with Cap One.
