First $10,000 card in years!

I received a CLI on my Barclay Rewards card this morning. That pushed the limit to $10,500. It's the first $10,000+ card since I filed for BK in 2009! I'm hoping this opens the door for more $10k cards. My Cap1 Venture is current at $6K. That is due for an increase in June so I'm going to ask for $10k. The same for when it's time to increase the limit on my Cap 1 Quicksilver. I'll see if that can go from $8K to $10K.

Finally... this feels good!

When I call or chat for CLIs and have lenders ask how much I'm looking for, I'll usually shoot low. I'll request a small increase because I think it will be more likely to be approved. One thing that I've learned here is to aim high. So with this limit and that info, I'll be doing that from now on. I believe that some lenders don't want to provide the highest limit in a customer's card collection but they also don't want to miss out and have the lowest so a lot of major limits can stay close to each other. I could be wrong.

Intersting still as Barclay's is your biggest creditor (2 cards)... Usually barclay's will match your other creditors, but not surpass them or that is what they said to me and many others.. Obviously you are the outlier and they like you alot.. Must put alot of spend through them. My original one was approved at 1500 then reconned inital SL and they matched my highest card at the time, since them opened the SM, rolled over my limit from RMC and closed it out and got a 1500 sp CLI.. Tempted to call and ask them to match my amex at 23k, but don't think that will fly lol

This is actually my newest major card. I received it 2014. But, I had to give up some of my Apple card's credit line to do it. That card (Apple) was opened August 2015 and had a CL of $8500. I applied for the Rewards card and received a notice they would get back to me. I called and was told that they would approve it but couldn't exended anymore credit to me. The person I spoke to suggested that I take some of the Apple card's line and use it to open the Rewards card. I did that. Then in November, I called to swap credit lines because I use the Rewards card more. I also had a SP CLI at that time.

When I called to receive a CLI on the Rewards card today, I also asked for on on the Apple card. I received roughly a 30% increase on each card. I do run a lot though the Rewards card. Usually about $1k and some months up to $4k. I pay it down to leave a balance of $600 - $700 each month. This is usually the only card that has a balance. Don't know if letting a balance report helps. I'm thinking about changing cards that report a balance monthly so I might spread that to my other cards. Could help them grow.

I am curious why you need to wait till June to hit up Cap1?

My V1 & Visa Sig,, 2 & 3 months old were increased $3K & $5K

I've got $38.5K in CLs since Nov '14 from Cap1....3K...8K...12.5K...15K

I thought we have to wait 6 months after getting an increase from Cap 1 to try for another one. I wouldn't mine sooner.

You haven't been keeping up with your homework assignments given on these forums. Many have gotten CLIs after as little as 60 days with no HPs.

We'll overlook this small indescretion this once but, don't let it happen AGAIN!
