No more apps, I've got Freedom!

I've had my mind set on having another card to allow to grow with the QS1 I was approved for and I knew I wanted Freedom. Although my AAofA is super young, I figured it wouldn't hurt too much to apply, especially because I want to cancel my secured Cap1 next year before the AF. The pre-qual button at Chase kept giving me Freedom, and then finally Slate at the top and Freedom below. Granted, the FICO monitoring was tempting, but I had my little heart set. So...I pushed the shiny "apply" button...

And I was approved!! $2200 SL. This is my largest bank card limit. I got the card I wanted and now that pre-qual button can't haunt me with temptation for another evening!!

Now I can water my garden without being jealous of the lawn across the street. Quick question...since my cards pretty much have the same age, only 3 mos between the secured and the QS1, and not even a week between it the the Freedom, will I be okay canceling the secured before the AF hits in Jan 2016 or should I let it at least hit the one year mark of these two cards?

Congratulations! You can let the secured hit a year and then close it and they should reimburse the AF.

Thanks! That's exactly what I'll do. Now that gives me something to look forward to, as well as getting my deposit back.

See if you can get the af on your secured card removed since they have removed it for all new applications

Congrats. Call Cap 1 and see if they will unsecure the card. Tell them you have 2 quality unsecured CL's already.

Thanks everyone! I just looked on their website and saw that they have nixed the AF for the secured card. I think I'll have to give them a call soon. Also, I got an alert and Chase pulled TU not the usual EQ. I thought they were pretty much solid with EQ. Glad I still got it with 6 Inq and such a thin file!

Great job so far!!! Congratulations! And yes, I would let the QS1 report for a year and then PC it to a QS with no AF.

Sure. I was supposed to be in the garden too but that card was calling me. I showed a 643 TU FAKO when I applied. This morning my alert showed that was the report they pulled. 1 collection showing, and I'm very new to my credit journey. I opened a secured Cap1 on 1/31, Quicksilver One on 4/28 and the Freedom this morning as it was after midnight when I pulled the trigger on the apply now button. Clearly Chase is friendly to a short AAofA, because my oldest card has not even cut its fourth statement.
