Capital One GM Extended Family Card CLI Approved!

Account is 10 years old though did a product change last year, 300 CL, requested additional 7700 to reach 8000, got approved additonal 17300, now at 17600!

I had the original (HSBC) GM card unlimited 5% cashback for GM car 10 years ago, it is my oldest card now when some of my other cards were closed due to inactivity (I lived under the rock for 5 years, recontructing my profile since 2 years ago). The card is not closed but got CLD from SL 3000 to 300 from inactivity, then Capital One bought it from HSBC, I converted it to GM Extended Family Card last year trying to save the rewards, didn't work... my rewards expired, after opened 5 new CC accounts in last 2 months, have over 20 CCs and thinking may as well waste another HP for CLI before entering the garden. Seeing how tough to get CLI from Capital One in the pass(though people getting good limit on Venture now), I would expect a denial even my fico score is in 780-790 range after all 5 new accounts and inquires(TU 1 (new), EQ 1, EX 4 (all new)). I got the 7-10 days message after submitted the request (I believe they pull EQ), and next day very early morning(cuz go to work early) I got an email reply "We are currently processing the information and will complete your request in 24-48 hours." I logged in the account and see nothing changed, I fully expect a denial and ready to call for recon after work. To my super big surprise, I checked after work, I am approved for 17600, double of what I asked! This is my new highest limit card, this card is not attractive, but it is my oldest card, so I plan to keep it active as long as possible, hopefully I can convert it to BuyPower card later. This surprise made my day!

Really not much, but I will definitely keep it forever for my profile, and who knows I might get to really use it in the future instead of small charges to keep it active.
