Bank of America Secured - FYI

For those of you interested in establishing or re-establishing with Bank of America I wanted to share my experience. Today is the one year anniversary of my discharge in which I burned Bank of America quite badly. Of course, I have wanted to re-establish a relationship with them and even though I have several unsecured cards I opted to go for a secured BankAmericard in hopes of getting back in. I am happy to report that my application was approved on recon! I do have deposit account and a brokerage with BOA. So either they were feeling especially forgiving today or the info you often read about them in the forums is not necesarily correct. Again this is post discharge exactly 1 year. I spoke with a fantastic uw and then her supervisor just to pass along a complement on how friendly and skillfully she handled the client interaction. Hope this is helpful!

Totally agree with u. I burned them 2yrs ago for about $2k (which was later PIF by them) and was just approved last week for the BBR card. Never even mentioned the previous charged off account. Totally satisfied and just glad to be back in with them again.

Yeah I have wanted to reestablish a relationsho with them as wel. I burned them for 15000 on cc charge off back in 2007. 8 years later after alot of hard work I have my scores at 699 eq ,680 ex 695 tu and have about 12 inq across board after opening up 4 cap one cards, barclays mc, discover student, fnbo am ex, tw visa and a couple of store cards. I have found myself filling out boa online app but always x out because I dont waant to take aho for something knowning that more than likely I may be denied.
