Am I crazy for applying for a second PenFed card inside 60 days- What are the chances?

I applied for the PenFed AMEX and got it with an $11k limit. I have heard they use the same credit pull for up to 90 days, so decided to also app for the Platinum Rewards Visa Signature. Did this last night and the app has been in pending status so far. I'm suspecting they will decision it sometime tomorrow. If I remember correctly my score was like 714 on the last credit pull. Income is around $70k with utilization at 8%. Hmmmm, wonder what they will do....what do you guys think they will do?

You will get approved, since your report is the same.

Good luck. I'm somewhat doubtful that they will give you another card right now. If they had wanted to extend more credit to you they probably would have given you a higher CL to start. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

Good luck if you apply for the 2nd card.

When I was approved in March for a card, I applied for a Line of Credit a few days later and was approved for 15K at 10.25% .

You might luck out. They approved me for a Visa Sig for $5.5k and then a few days later they approved me for a PLOC for $10k.

Was still pending today from 5/19. I called and the rep said they needed to ask me some ID questions. That taken care of he told me I would find out in a day or two. Wouldn't they have just flat denied me, rather than go through that, of they were going to? Keeping my fingers crossed. lol

Hopefully you'll get it! As some have mentioned, it may end up being a lesser amount (if approved) but I'm sure it will still work!

Well....well. Woot!!!! I just logged in and it says on the site that my application was approved. It didn't say what my limit is yet, but I know the Visa Signature is a minimum of $5K. I'm a happy camper!

UPDATE: The credit line is $7k for sure now.

Congrats on getting both of their top tier cards. No need for anymore cards from them.
