Furniture Row by Capital One: EO CLI Request successful

My spouse and I have had the Furniture Row credit account since November 2014. When we applied we were given a meager $2009 starting limit. We attempted to raise the credit online, over the phone, and in-store to no avail. Nevertheless, we did use the card to make a major purchase and maxed the card out right away for a $5000 living room sectional for which we received a 0% APR for 3 years (btw, the amount that exceeded our line of credit was paid out of pocket).

In the past few months, we've been asking for an increase online, as we've paid our balance down to less than 10% of the $2009 line of credit, and we've been continually denied due to information contained in an Equifax report which cites an old charge off that was set to fall off. At the beginning of June, that account was purged from Equifax making the report entirely clean. Yet, the online request to increase the credit was still denied (due to the fact that Capital One was using an old SP credit report to make their decision).

So.... we called the EO and explained the situation and he said he would refer the matter to an analyst and that we'd receive notification in 7 to 10 working days. 2 days later we receive a voicemail from Capital One Retail Services asking us to call them back in regards to the matter. We returned the call and got CS who then transferred us to the "Credit Department." We spoke with a very nice lady who said that they'd need to do a hard pull while we were on the phone and that she would pull 1 report only from 1 bureau and would make a decision based on that. We agreed and she asked us how much we wanted. We said $15,000 althouh we knew that Capital One would not increase us that much. She even said that would be a stretch but that she'd come back and let us know.

About 10 minutes later (after 2 holds) -- she returned to the phone and said she could increase us from $2009 to $6000 and we accepted. She said the amount was available for immediate use. We are entirely pleased because we are going to make an additional purchase at Furniture Row for a bedroom set in the the next two or so months!

I know this is an old post, but I called Cap 1 retail for Furniture Row and I got the same answer you did. They said it was based on a report they pulled on me a lil over a year ago. I know there was a baddie on there and it has since been removed. So, I will wait for the letter with the explaination and then call back,,, i suspect they will ask to do a hard pull. Glad I found this post, it wil help me on how to triage.
