Citi Double Cash Approved!

Closed my last 2 crappy cc's and decided to stop being afraid of Chase and Citi. App'd for CDC & got 4.3k. I know, it's a horrible limit. So do I call them when I get the card in my hand and ask for more? Also app'd for the Chase Sapphire Preferred (I really wanted this one) & got the "we need more info", "if approved, your card will arrive in the mail with all paperwork in 7-10 days. I'm assuming it's a denial? Also got an email right after with the 30 days message. Should I recon or wait 6 months & try again? I have 9-EQ, 9-EX & 11 TU inquiries. Maybe scared them off? The only new card showing up on my report is just the one Venture right now. UT is 9%. I decided I better app now since I purchased my new bedroom furniture and will take 2 months to pay it off. Yes, I did get carried away with the new stuff. We got what we wanted. It will probably raise my UT to 15/17%. Only did the math in my head.

Grat's! One thing I have observed is that Citi Double Cash CLs are low. You have one of the highest. Strange is that for a second hard pulll people have been able to up their CL. You did well.

Well thank you! I thought it was low. So 2 hp's to ask for a higher cl? Maybe I'll let it grow on it's own.

Congrats on a nice SL with Citibank Double Cash. Based on previous reviews that is a great SL. If you are unhappy, you can recon. I tried, but was declined because I had just received a CLI on my Simplicity card.

A month later I tried again and my CL was increased from $2600 to $8000. I LOVE my Double Cash credit card. Keep up the good work!!!

Congrats on the DC.. Depends on how many accounts you have opened in the last two years regarding chase.. Anymore than 5 if could be tricky.. For whatever reason their own cards, not co-branded they are cracking down on recent application (2 years) as a denial reason for alot of people, this doesn't seem to apply for the co-branded cards ritz, marrriot, etc.. Deffinetly worth calling them and finding out or just wait it out for a letter then decide? Best of luck on the CSP!

I agree that's a GREAT starting limit for the Double Cash! Mine has a $1,000 CL. I also apped for the Chase Freedom at the same time and was granted $5,000, so go figure, LOL!!! CONGRATS!!!

Thanks! I might call later. Since I did app for many the past 2 years, I might need to wait awhile & try again. Get my hands dirty in the garden. We need some concrete under the fences.
