Sinclair Gas Card (aka, "The Dinosaur Card"): APPROVED!

Our financial/credit wish list was whittled away to one remaining item yesterday: The Sinclair (aka, "The Dinosaur") gas card. My spouse and I take trips through the midwest and western U.S. at least twice a year, and this is one of the most prevalent gas stations along the route we take. This isn't to mention that card is extra cool looking! So, feeling brave once again, and without many data points either on here or on the credit pulls database, I decided to pull the trigger. From the little data available, it appears that Sinclair pulls Transunion, doesn't approve applications instantly (they all go into a pending mode), and it would seem they are fairly conservative in handing these things out.

Also, even though the card has some sort of limit, it is set up like a charge account in which the balance comes due once a month and needs to be paid in full. That's fine with me as I wouldn't want to carry a balance on a gas card anyway.

After submitting our application, it said we'd hear back from them in 7-10 days. However, as fearfully inquisitive as I am, I decided to give Sinclair a ring 24 hours later to ensure that my application "had been received." The very nice lady who answered the phone asked for some information to verify my identity and said, "congratulations, your application was approved earlier today, and they have already been sent to you in the mail. You should see them next week!"

In summary, Sinclair Gas Card: ----> APPROVED.

(I will update this thread once I find out the assigned credit limit and I know it won't be anything enormous because the app asked what the average spending on this card would be per month $100, $200, $300, $400, or $500. I chose $300 -- so I'm not sure if that's the credit limit that would be granted.

Thank you Pizza! This was one card that we wanted really, really bad! Of all our approvals, this is one we are really excited about! lol

Thanks for the congrats everyone! This is more exciting than having been approved for the Citi Prestige! And to answer your question Jtfan80, unfortunately, there are no rewards or discounts that we are aware of .... but the biggest perk is that the card has a green dinosaur on it.....

Interesting how they partition those amounts and exactly how they might report a limit.
