GECRB gave me big CLI

I have had a Sam's card through GECRB for 14 months with $600 CL and never bothered to request a CLI until yesterday. I chatted online with a representative about what kind of credit pull that they would do if I requested a CLI. A soft pull they assured me so, I did it and they increased me to $3600. Pretty good jump, six times my original CL. Today, I checked my Amazon account which is also through GECRB and I have had the account for only 2 months with a $900 CL, and I was surprised to see they raised my CL to $1900 without me asking. I have to say that GECRB is an outstanding company for CLI and even though I don't buy much from either account, it sure helps a lot to have $5500 available credit as far as credit utilization. I know that these are not major credit cards but it doesn't matter when looking at the whole picture. I checked my Fico and sure enough, soft pull. In the future, I will be adding a Lowe's card which is backed by GECRB also. If anyone knows of other GECRB cards, please let us know.

^^^ DONT DO IT its getting less exspensive because they are on the list of stores that are going out of business soon, so dont apply for it. (not worth it id say)

The staff on clearance is always at good price,my wife and I went the other day, we bought a lot of cloth for us and the kids, at a bargain. When you apply and use it that day you get 20% off, also they got some sort of rewards but also we call CS we couldn't reedem it.

... it's not cheap because we're going out of business. also keep in mind that "list" are business projections. projections DON'T mean we'll be "going out of business". our clothing is less expensive because we follow the market and aim to put the best prices on all our products month after month

They might might not, but if people like you or me start shopping there again, chances are it will recover, thanks to thier store card, they sold $300 to my family, most of it clearance but I bought a pair of tennis for my son at regular price. Don't be shy they still make a profit with the clearance merchandise.

I agree daybreakgonesXe, JCPenny is being aggressive and hopefully they will be alright. I used to buy their clothes exclusively, really liked the shirt selection. I'll give them some business next week.

Same here back before the recession we use to buy most of our cloth in JCPenny, but in 2009 they cancel my wife store card, cause she defaulted on another card. No balance was due but still got it cancel, they put in the letter something in the words she was a high risk. Then our credit improved, and a few weeks ago we went back to jcpenny to my surprise we found affordable cloth and my wife got approved for the store card with a 500 cl, so now we shop there for cloth, at least for the last 2 motnhs.

@daybreakgonesXe Oh sory i was mentioning it because even sears was mentioned to be closed,and sears looks like its a more a possiblity than a projection, But you never know, meanwhile JCP shoppers should buy there so it doesnt go away, but actually recover like @Kutuviz mentioned

Slab, its better to apply in the store! Better approval odds and ID verification, youll have your temp card and coupon all set for you! Plus the coupon you receive in store is for store and online purchases while online will only give you the discount for online orders!

If you apply for the card and shop there, even if they close, you'll have a positive account in your cr, so worst case scenario is just a hp.
