Got Chase Sapphire Preferred with no credit check??

Hi all,

First, I want to thank everyone here who has been great with their help and experiences...thanks, I meant it!!

Anyways, I applied for the CSP last month. I checked "yes" for the box that asks if you ever had a CH 7, and got instantly denied. I Immediately changed to the other open web page and submitted for the Capital One Venture (Approved for $15K).

I called Chase's back door number and after talking to the lady, got denied (this was on my way to work). That same day, I called again when I got home and talked to a different rep who asked me more questions...after being on hold for about 30 minutes, i got approved for the card. I received an immediate inquiry via credit karma email for Capital One that night I applied BUT I haven't receive any hard inquiry from Chase.

Did they forget to check my credit? will it show later down the road? Anyone with a similar experience/scenario?

I did read the night I applied for both cards, that when you check the box "yes" for CH 7, that their automated system won’t even bother on checking your credit....that's why as soon as I got denied, I immediately switched windows and clicked submit on the already filled out Capital One Venture card application

I did that because I read that when you apply for cards, it’s good to apply for 2 or 3 at a time right after the other so on the following applications, the inquiry won’t be picked up by the system when it’s running the credit check. Not sure how accurate that was but some stated it worked, so I gave it a shot on those two I really wanted since we are going to start traveling.

Credit karma only checks TU. the inquiry may have been on EQ or EX.

I didn't know Credit Karma only checks TU...makes sense and kind of figures Chase pulled EQ or EX.

credit karma pulls TU and EQ now. This changed six months ago or so. You can see your credit report on both for free as well. For EX use credit sesame or credit. com. Both use EX who I think chase pulls.

Jeff532003, Credit Sesame doesn't do EX anymore, they do TU now, which makes them completely useless

Chase pulled my TransUnion and Experian on my initial denial. On reconsideration and second application for Freedom they only pulled Experian.

I want the Chase Freedom but afraid to apply since I had to call recon twice before approval for Sapphire.

I currently have EX 698 | TU 701 | EQ 698

What Chase number did you call to recon ??? I was approved for Slate 5500.CL about 2 week's ago. I just appd for the CSP on Wed and got the "we need to review further, blah, blah, blah 7 - 10 days". Just called the automatic Chase status line and it still states "we're still reviewing your app, you'll receive a letter within 30 day, and if you're approved, your card will arrive in 7 - 10 days". My EX, which they pulled for the Slate, is 790. They haven't pulled my EX a second time or any other CR yet. I'm thinking I'll be declined or they'll wait a few day's and pull my CR again. Guess I'll find out soon enough.

Look at it this way, many of us have had Chase pull two and three bureaus. So you only had the one bureau pull (they pulled two bureaus on me).
