Chase Slate Approved

I applied for the Chase Slate on Friday and was approved this morning for $3,500, not the ideal credit limit I was looking for since my other cards are around $7K & $8K, Does anyone know if I can request a CLI when I activate the card? Anybody had any luck getting there limit increased at activation???

Any CLI request with chase will result in HP

Even with a hard pull will they grant me the CLI??? I guess that was my real question.

not guranteed nor would I waste one if I were you.. Just my opinion. They gave you what they felt comfortable with. Usually the Slate CL's aren't that great starting out and usually to get a good one you need to open another Chase card and transfer some of the limit over.

I already have a Chase Freedom with them at $8K, but I wanted to ask for a higher CL when I activate my Slate.

First off, congrats. As to disappointment over an expected limit - thats usually an exercise in futility not to mention thats not how card issuers work (and somewhat naive as well). Know going n2 an app whats the average approval CL (this includes whether or not U can expect an HP/SP CLI upon activation if desired). The main thing however is U were approved and that hopefully it was a card U needed. Beyond that nothing is promised nor guaranteed. Thanx for sharing.

It's crazy. All my CL's reporting on my CR's, from secured cards no less, we're 1K - 2K when I appd for my first Chase card, the Slate. Instantly approved 5500.CL, my highest at the time. So go figure. Most of my other apps, including Amex and SDFCU, gave me small CL's 1K to 2K, to match my other secured lines, but not Chase. Bam 5500. !!!! I was shocked. You just never can figure these lender's out.

If you already have 8K with them, they're probably looking at total exposure, similar to the way Amex work's. Maybe Chase is comfortable with 11K or so total exposure, spread across all CL's. Just a thought.
