Bank of America Cash Rewards CLI

$1,200 CLI Approved!!!

So I made a call three days ago to request for a credit line increase on my Bank of America Cash Rewards Credit Card. The request was from my $1,800 CL to $3,000! I already saw that they did a HP against my TU Credit Report. I made a call today and asked if there are any developments or decisions yet and I was told that there hasn't been any updates on it yet. The representative was kind enough to redirect me to their credit department so they can expedite the decision process. After a few minutes on hold, I was able to talk to a Credit Specialist who only did a few verifications and asked my goal why I needed the increase. I told him that I recently got approved for a PC from my Cash Rewards to Travel Rewards and would definitely want to have access to a higher credit limit so I can maximize the benefits of the new card. After that he placed me on hold for like 30 seconds and then congratulated me for being approved on the request!!!

Honestly I wasn't expecting that I will be approved since I have never been approved with a CLI from BoA for the past 2 years that I have been with them! Now that I have this increase and a new Discover Card on the way, I can definitely rest in the garden for a while until i'm ready to shop for my first home!

Yes, definitely!!! I'm still trying to get reconsidered for my declined AmEx Everyday Application but most definitely mo more applications with HPs for me!!!

Next time you're gonna ask BofA for a CLI and take a HP, make sure you shoot for the stars, then if need be settle for the moon. I did the same this weekend (as a matter of fact it was completed this morning), except I had a $1k CL and I asked them to push it to $10k. They countered with a CL of $7.5k, a figure we both could settle on. 😈

Congrats on your CLI!! I agree that you should have asked for more but you can definitely try again in 6 months! I recently got a cli on my Bofa cash rewards of 4,000$ (from 4 to 8,000$) and I've only had the card for 7 months. My scores were way lower than yours. Bofa is a relationship bank so If you have an account with them and you use your Bofa card on a regular basis will definitely help!

Reaching for the stars - it works! I was approved for $1000 and was able to recon to $19,500 a couple months back.

I opened my Travel rewards & BBR in March 20th.. @ $2k & $10k

May 27th I called in for a cli on both

travel rewards went to $15k

BBR went to $12k

i called back a few days later and had them take $5k from BBR & put it onto Travel rewards.

travel Rewards = $20k

BBR = $7k

That's awesome! To be honest, I would really love to call them and ask for another increase. But I just got hit with an inquiry when I asked for my last CLI. So maybe i'll try again next year after I get my target home!

Congrats! I request a 3x increase from $1,500 to $4,500 this past March(6 months after I got the card with a HP on TU), and they ended up giving me a $3,000 limit still my lowest limit out of my big four cards though lol
