Citi Double Cash Approval + CLI

I was in the garden but while watering my plants, I accidentally slipped! As a result, I checked on the Citi website if I was pre-approved for the Citi Double Cash Credit Card! And it turns out, I was! So with all the excitement I forgot about gardening and applied for the card! I was automatically approved with a SL of $1,200! After I was approved, I immediately called the Citi EO and asked if it's possible for a CLI. So they had someone help me start the process for a CLI Request. I was then told that it would take about 1 - 2 business days before a resolution on it.

That was Thursday when I applied so I checked on them on Friday to see if there's a result yet but they told me my account hasn't shown up yet on the system and may take 1-2 days for it to show up. So I checked back on Saturday and finally was told that my account is now in the system but no Credit Line Increase was done yet and that I should call back Monday. And when I did call back today, I was told that it was approved! I don't really remember how much I asked for CLI but I was given an increase from $1,200 to $5,000!

It's been a sweet 2-week ride here in myFico! Thanks for all the knowledge and smart moves!

Now i'm off to walmart to buy those anti-slip mats so I won't ever slip again while in the garden. I'll keep myself locked up until June 2016 when it's time to shop for my first home mortgage!

EDIT: Just got a call from the EO letting me know that my request was approved (she was the same lady who helped me put up my request! I love her already just for taking time to call me and let me know). Apparently, I originally requested for $8,000 but was partially approved for $5,000 "due to the newness of the account." Hope this helps somebody else when they apply for their Citi Card!

Congrats on approval and CLI! They are stingy with this CC...I took a 2nd HP to get my $1200 initial CL to $5K, as well. Ugh.

Yes, the lady I was talking to told me that they did another HP for the CLI but I have yet to see any new inquiry on my Score Watch other than the first inquiry they did when I appd for the card. So i'm praying it stays that way.

Holy congrats! You didn't break anything when you slipped, did you? I normally wait until it rains a lot, you can sneak out under the fence........................

Lol at the sneaking under the fence! I'm gonna have to put up extra barricades around my garden! I don't want to sneak out anytime within my 12-month gardening! Haha!
