Discover 5-7 days?

Well after swearing I was going to garden, I wanted one more card to get my total CL up first, so I tried for a Discover card.

Filled all the info in, it came back asking for some documents, sent up W2 and ID.

Then it came right back and said I will have an answer in 5-7 days, nothing else, no number to call or anything.

Do not know yet who the pulled from.

I ask due to seeing other posts that said they were given a number to call later.

Do I take this as a bad sign?

I will live with it either way, will not call, and for sure going to the garden for at least six months!

Oh, one more question if anyone has input on it. When I got my QS card I had been offered three, QS, Venture, Plat, I only went with the QS.

But now, after about 2 weeks, when I go to the pre-qual site I get NO offers, is that normal?

Do I take this as a bad sign? - Your best bet now is to jump on Chat and query them about the status of your application. That message can mean anything.

Calling and inquiring about a card does not make you look desperate. But sometimes, waiting it out patiently also pays off so if that is what you want to do then by all means. Post an update once you hear back.

I'm kind of on the fence with calling. Called for CSP and I don't think I will call again. Besides, the letter said the same thing the CSR said. Just not my thing. Wait it out and see what they say. You never know. Remember, time is on YOUR side.

needtodobetter, thank you, but no, it led to the same screen I recieved after I app'ed, just showed they wanted some doc's that I sent already.

Quick update, they pulled both EX and EQ, was not expecting two pulls. EX had one inq from capital one that is recent and EQ had three, so I may be dead in the water with them.

There’s still hope! I received the 5-7 day message, I uploaded my DL & SSN. Once I uploaded I contacted them, the CSR stated I needed to call new accounts during business hours. Was ultimately approved for 4,000.

my_credit_journey_2013 , Did you have recent inq's? Did they hammer anything on your reports?

I have one baddie only on EQ, 6+ year medical collection for about $700.00 that I disputed, it was paid to the OC but I do not have the records, falls off soon.

The other is some late's 6+ months old on my mortgage, but that was mainly due to their mail processing department, I now drive 60 miles round trip a month to make the payment in person at a branch.

No other baddies, scores as in my sig.

Thanks for your input.

I have never been chicken to call about things before, just get a feel that I should wait them out on this one.

I went to their website and was matched with a card so I applied. It processed about a minute and said it needed more info from me and I answered the questions and it processed a few more seconds and then took me to a blank page. I used their 'check the status' feature and was shown a reference number and a number to call because it stated they needed more info.

I called and while they never really said I was denied, they said I could be approved with a co-signer. I asked her anyway why I was denied on my own and she said a letter would come in the mail explaining any decision. I politely explained that I didn't want a card if I needed a co-signer because I didn't want an account of mine not only tied up with another consumer, but them privy to my account business and thanked her. She seemed perfectly ok with that and we hung up.

A few minutes later, just for the heck of it, I checked the status again and it said they could not approve me at this time and a letter was coming, etc.

As @Anonymous mentioned earlier, I soon got a notification that they had pulled EQ. My FICO8 is 700 with NO baddies whatsoever.

The only thing I can think of is that I have about 20 recent inquiries (at least half of those are from auto shopping that resulted in 2 new auto loans, in March), and about 10 new credit accounts opened in the past 4 months. My uti is about 6% on all revolving.

It kind of threw me that I was matched with a card and then required to have a co-signer

No baddies, they pulled Equifax last inquiry was in 12/14. They said they saw a fraud alert (I couldn't see it), asked me to name one CC I had, put on hold and was approved. Tons of new accounts though; 5 approvals this year before Discover.

Any idea?

Tells me only that I got some kind of Discovetr card, not what one, not APR, not SL.

Is that normal for the online status?

Seems to be. At least it was for me. I called to get my SL, but the CSR couldn't tell me the APR.
