Approved for Citi Prestige after recon

Well after initially being denied for a thin credit file, I was successful in getting a recon! Limit is only 5k but I'll take it and hope they do auto CLIs after awhile. Seeing as how I just got approved for the Freedom a few weeks ago and did a HP CLI on my existing CC the month before, I'm heading to the garden for quite awhile. I'll likely only come out for the CSP and even then I don't want to until early 2016 at the earliest (I should be ok for the 5 card limit as I've only had these 2 cards and 3 HPs).

Initial impression is card does seem thin or flimsy when compared to my Freedom but honestly doesn't feel worse than my old BoA CC. Whatever, I'm super pumped about the card and it should help me in future travels! Thanks for all the help myFico!

What were your scores when you applied? inquiries? CH7? New accounts in the past 6 months?

Just curious, i wasn't successful with recon for double cash card.

Scores: EQ- 797, TU- 807, EX- 829

Inquiries: 3 (4 if you could Chase's double pull). Add another inquiry for Citi's pull

New Accounts: 1 (Chase Freedom from ~3 weeks ago but it hadn't reported on my CR)

No baddies or alerts

Util. reported at 14%

Oldest account: 8 years

AAoA: 6 years

To be honest, I was quite surprised to have been approved as I've been using only 1 credit card for the longest time and it just recently got a CLI to 12k. Guess it's a good thing I didn't apply for the Amex Platinum this weekend or else I'd be struggling to find things to make the min. spends. Hope this helps!

No prior history and I only had 1 credit card reporting, I could see why they wouldn't want to approve it off the bat. Good luck with your Citi app if you decide to circle back, glad I could help!

Thanks! i probably won't call recon again, from what i read, it is impossible to recon with them for certain cases. I burned them in BK for about $1k and heard you have to wait 7 yrs to re-apply. Will be 5 yrs in October for me. I just want to get an AMEX so i can be done with cards forever...ill wait.
