Alright what a deal!

I would not even think to do this...but. Since I have been with amex since may with my ED, and this did just cost me 1 experian inquiry potentially, do you know what would happen if I applied for another one of their credit cards?

I know i would potentially get declined, but would it be on the same inquiry?

I think it would be a different inquiry. I just got approved for another one, so you should get approved also.

Ok, but should I be taking advantage of this inquiry and go for a 2nd amex credit card? What is the best one, maybe a airline amex?

I've read that if you do a charge card and a credit card they might throw the inquiries together as one. Best of luck and congrats on the PRG approval!

Went for the 35k miles delta and got this message:

Thank you for applying for the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card. Your application has been received and will be processed as soon as possible and we will notify you of the decision by mail within 14 days.
Thank you for applying.

Called in , the guy was super nice. He said it was pending review to prevent fraud as I had applied for another product earlier in the day.

Then he told me he was rushing me the card, it would be here in 3 days. Then out of nowhere says oh I am sorry it was declined, I was not able to be approved..

Ha ha. Ah well. At least I tried!!!

OK lol UPDATE

I called back to the recon number listed here. The rep assured me multiple times that there was no reason for my application to be denied for Delta except for the security alert. And that she could reconsider my application with no impact to my credit.

Ok first of all, if its denied for the security, then how was the last guy able to put it through? Do these people know what they are doing?

Now, the funny thing is, they are going off of an old credit report, from end of may, and june 6th. Which makes no sense. They should be going off the one from TODAY for the PRG which has a score at least 30 points higher! WTH

The other person said something about 5 days between product approvals?? Who knows. They are calling back in 5 days. So strange....
