AMEX approval after BK

Guys, there is hope! I have a discharged BK Ch 7 from 02/15/2011 and burned AMEX for about $3k. After reading some posts here about people getting approved with a BK on file I decided to take the plunge. Instantly approved for the Delta Gold $3k and PRG. I thought I would share, it has been a good night!

I was just denied. I had a BK discharged back in May 2010 and was told in the denial that basically once your denied you won't be approved. *Shucks*

Sorry to hear that. It took me a couple tries, in the previous denials they stated BK as a factor for their decision.

Thanks! Also my application for the BCP is pending, since it was the third application they needed to do verification, so waiting on that one. Since I have my foot in again with Amex I'm thinking it's time to tell Capital One good bye.

Did you pay them back or not after burning them? Be extremely suprised if you burned them that recently and didn't pay them back that they would let you back in.. I think you slipped through the cracks somehow .. congrats.

Well as far as cards that I have you can see those in my signature, AAoA about 2 years, about 13 inquiries, and 1 collection from Comcast that I'm fighting to have removed. I was added to a friend's 3 Amex accounts as an AU so I'm not sure if that helped.

Whoa!! This is new for AMEX, the earliest approvals we have seen is 5 years post d/c. Congrats on getting back in with them.

I believe based on the assortment of cards (displayed in your signature), AMEX was willing to give you a second chance. I hope one day they consider me as well. Congrats!
