Lowes instant approval and CLI

I need to do some remodeling and didn't want to put it on any of my cards. Before applying for anything, I did my homework and came to myfico to figure out what to do. As always, I found a wealth of useful information and went ahead and applied for lowes, $2K instant approval. Then, following the instructions from here, I called the backdoor number and asked for $35K. After a couple of minutes on hold, they counteroffered with $17K. I'll try again in a few days via chat to get another CLI from $17K to $35K. Thank you great people of myfico!

AWESOME! I just bought a house and want to do upgrades. I've had the "small" Lowe's card ($300) for a couple of years. I hardly use it but always make timely payments. I called the back door number twice and got a flat out denial each time. No counter offer at all. I'll try again in a month or so after I use the card and pay it off in full. Maybe that'll help (I have another post in another thread but just thought I'd share as this thread seems more relevant than my first one). Thanks for all the great info to everyone on myfico. And, again, congrats big time! Hope the remodelling is going well!
