I've been using it like crazy and paying it off constantly, never carrying a balance. I logged in today to find that my credit limit was suddenly $8k. Are you kidding me?! The $5k was my highest limit ever, and look at it now! I don't carry balances and I I've paid exactly $.50 in interest in the last year of rebuilding. We discovered a wonderful budgeting program in March 2014, and our finances and credit history have taken a complete turn from where they were. We're totally starting to see the benefits! I applied to VentureOne and got a 3k SL which was 2.5k more than my first credit card (Discover). I got it specifically because I had plane tickets to buy, and I knew I could meet the spend to get the 40k bonus miles.
