Sallie Mae and BCE Success (and a recon question...)

Hey everyone! I've been reading a bit on the forums the past few weeks and learned a lot of useful information. Just joined to say thank you! and to share my small successes in the past few weeks...

Some background: Graduated from college in 2013, first applied for a CapOne Secured because I didn't know what I'd be able to get (accepted, $150 CL); then applied for Discover It and got $3950 CL. Promptly closed the secured card and applied for BoA Cash Rewards, got $1500 on that. Since then no apps until this year but CL's went up to $4150 and $5000, respectively.

Aug 14: applied for BCE with targeted code for $250 back on $1000 min spend. Immediate approval over the phone for $5500! Realized too late that I should've SP CLI'd Discover first, so did that immediately afterward and got a nice $4500 bump to $8650.

Aug 30: been eyeing the Sallie Mae card for a while, decided to go for it (should've done this on the same day as BCE but different CRA pull so I guess the only affect is AAoA will be 2 weeks less?). Immediate approval for $8000! Also saw the thread about Discover auto luv being nice so I tried again...2 day message.

Aug 31: decided to recon to see if I could raise the SM, was told that they wanted to see me responsibly use a card with this high of a CL first (I guess the Discover CLI wasn't reported yet?).

EDIT: Sep 1: decided to call recon again to ask if they could ship it to me on vacation...they told me to wait until the card had finished processing and then they might be able to expedite or send a duplicate. On a pipe dream I asked to increase SL again and got it bumped to $10,000! First 5 digit CL for me

So now I'm sitting at the following:

BoA Cash: $5000

Amex BCE: $5500

Sallie Mae: ~~$8000~~ $10,000!

Discover It: $8650

FICO 8 scores

TU 747 from Discover (as of 7/28, will probably drop once inq from SM hits)

EX 730 from Amex (as of 8/22, was 757 last month...assuming due to BCE inq)

Now, for the question: is it worth calling Barclay again to see if I can get that SL bumped? Also, is it OK to ask for express delivery and to waive the $15 fee?

You could try but based on their reason for denying it the first time, your odds are not good. Besides, your SL of $8k is not only excellent for the card, it is far more than you need since the categories have caps many times lower than that.

Fair enough; my main reason for wanting the increase was to keep my UTL low...although I guess if I max out gas and groceries monthly that's still under 10% which seems to be the magic number.

Has anyone had any success asking for the express delivery fee to be waived?

I got it waived on my SM card somehow.. Probably just a curtiousy, but typically they will charge you.

Congrats on your recent successes!!! Nice work!!! Regarding reconning your CL with Barclay, you can call but I don't think they will change their minds. I don't have any experience with expediting credit cards. Keep us posted on the outcome. Best of luck!!!

So I called again today and talked to a different person...they asked me essentially the same questions but this time he approved me for an increased SL of $10,000!

On top of that, he told me I could most likely get a duplicate shipped to an alternate address or get the original expedited if I called back after the card finished processing, so hopefully I can start using this on my Cali trip coming up

Thanks! I see you have two of my other top priority cards right now (BBR and DC), then maybe AARP...might need to jump for those soon but no good signup bonuses any of them right now.
