Chase Freedom Finally APPROVED!

I got my foot in the door with Chase this morning. I applied on 12/22 and had to do a recon and fax in my SS card and proof of address and wait wait wait! They finally approved me for ONLY $1,000 due to my 9 yr, 4 mo old Ch 7 bankruptcy. Boo! But my card is on the way and they said after 6 months I will likely get an increase or can call to request one. They also barked over my 28% utilization on my two Cap One cards because last month I paid the balance off AFTER the statement cut. My verbal statement that I pay my balances in full every month was not sufficient for a higher limit. But I am getting close to the scheduled increase of $500 on the Cap One Cash Rewards card at 7th statement, which will bring the limit to $2,500. So I plan to use my Orchard and Chase Freedom card for everyday purchases and the Cap One card for new furniture next month after I close on the house. And then in March, I will pay the Capital One Cash Rewards card in full when I receive my bonus. So my new total credit limit on my three cards is $4,600! Yay! I'm getting there! I plan to app for a Discover in Sept after some inquiries fall off and my report is BK free! So excited to have three credit cards now along with a brand new Acura I got a Nov and soon will have a mortgage in of this month or mid Feb. I'm almost there guys and gals! . I heard that some here have gotten only $500 on the Freedom so I am happy as it could have been lower. So excited y'all!

Congrats!!!!!! Once your BK falls off, maybe try for another prime card or two. I bet you can get to $50k in avail cred in the next year or two, assuming that is what you want!

Thank you so much! I want at least $10-20K in total credit. I can't wait for that hideous BK to fall off! I plan to go on a App spree for a Discover in Sept and then try for an AMEX in March 2014...hoping 5 cards will get me there! : D

Congrats! The Freedom is an excellent card. 5% on gas and Starbucks FTW.

Exactly! Im hoping chase gives me the six month increase in march, that would be a nice wedding present lol

For my car, Im pretty much getting a free gallon of gas every fill up this quarter. LOVE IT!

Wow! 5% on gas! That is huge! I only get 1% with the Cap One Cash Rewards card. Now I am super excited!

Yw:-) Freeedom is such a great card that mine is nearly maxed! Haha only for the 0% though! :-) Ive gotten like $150 in cashback over the past few months.

Wow! I got the Cap One Cash Rewards card in July and I only got $88 cash back so far! $150 is awesome! Wooo hooo!

OMG! I was catching up after getting the Express store card with a $250CL and now you beat me again!

Thanks again all. Sorry for the late response. Facing eviction from landlord not from unpaid rent but because I didn't buy her house. I am on contract for a different house. So I will be hiring a lawyer tomorrow. Happy time is over.
