Sad Sams Club Approval

So for months now, i have been eyeing up the sams club mastercard.... It has everything i love, 5 Percent cash back on gas!!! 3 percent on dining and travel!!! that is litterally what i spend the most money on. between that and discover it now being on the department store 5 percent catagory i would have been set all the way around! but alas, i applied and got an instore approval! for $937.00... How long before i can get this turned into a mastercard? or their away of applying for the upgrade??? please help! lol

Well the good news is you can probably get a CLI fairly soon. I would make a purchase, pay off, and get online and click chat. Ask for 25k and they will counter with the highest you can get for now.

MC upgrades do happen, although not frequently. I have had my PLCC since April with mild to moderate use. Some folks are preapproved, or so they claim. All the Sams I have been to say they do not offer preapproval for the MC. You do have the option to apply online specifically for the MC only, or in club and state that you do not want to be considered for the PLCC if denied. Some folks have ended up with TWO plccs.

The card is pretty darn cool. There are better cards to use at sams, like the Citi DC. There are also quite a few cards out there that do 5 % for gas. Few that do 3% for travel though. And you do realize the cash back comes once a year right?

I just want one for simplicity. It would be a simple way to have an upgrade without apping. Not to mention make me love sams even more. I am a plus member and as a plus member you earn 2% back anyway. Lots of deals to get the $100 membership for $35, plus a $20 gift card, and $20 in free food.

Unfortunately, that is the risk one takes with applying depending on your overall profile. Just be glad it was approved vs. declined. You can still take advantage of their special promotions and whatnot. As far as upgrades go, those are by invitation only (no specific timeframe). Manage your account well and see how it fares in the next 12+ months or so. MC upgrades do happen but IIRC (for Sam's Club) it's far and in between.

Congrats on the approval! I was approved for the same amount in May of this year on the store card (was also hoping for the MC but no-go). On the bright side though, the very next month, I was able to get the CL increased to 8K through chat. So don't lose hope as this Sync card grows very rapidly.

On the MC upgrade front, I'm not so sure on how long it takes or if they ever would upgrade a store card without reapplying.
