New here but have been lurking since I decided to get ahold of my finacial situation (June 2013). I started a budget & started my research aka obsession with credit scores and maximizing my benefits. My goal was to take ahold of my finacial situation before my 30th BDay. Thank you all of the valuebale info you provide this forum it has help me in my journey and has me pointed in the right directions.

I basically got really tired in June of paying interest and throwing away money I can have invested somwhere else. I was paying atleast $2500 in interest a year for no good reason.

here was my profile in June

Age 29

AAOA - 2 yrs 4 months

Capital one plat rewards - CL 750 (balance 700) 22% intereset

Barclay Apple Card - CL 3900 ( balance 3750 ) 21% interest

Citi loan for $3000 - only 1 payment at the time was left

Care Credit - CL $1500 26% interest

1 negative (dental collections $290)

my CK faco at the time was 646 dropped down to 636 after the loan closed with the last payment.

Since then I paid off all my balances

CareCredit - 0 Balance

The collectons I paid in full for delete, took less than 60 days to fall off all 3 reports

Capital 1 - PC to Quiksilver one thru cust serv and CLI of $100 thru the luv button, recon thru EO had annual fee reimbursed & CLI raised to $1000 ( This has become my go to CC)

Barclay - balance xfer to my wife's chase freedom to get 0% ( paying the rent/ultilities in full and putting her share towards the card ) **Thank you my ** :-), Then I was blessed with a surprise auto CLI to $6100 at the beginning of Sept.

checking CK and CS for fakos almost daily ( obsessed I know ) they recently both showed 775 & 771 respectively

my original goal was to app for Amex BCP & Freedom in Nov to take advantage of Blk friday and christmas shopping, woke up this morning with an itch so I scratched it

BCP approved for $7k (thru creditcards.com offer, thank you again myficoforums)

Chase Freedom $4k

Now that my goal has been realized before my 30th ( Oct 13th ) I am officially in the garden for the next 6 months as I watch these grow , I'll see where I stand in March '14 and possibly come out for the Chase Saphire P & the Sallie Mae World Card

Awesome job! Once you come out of the garden in 6 months and PIF and solid payment history, I'd app for that CSP. That's what I did successfully, they should give it to you as well. Keep up the good work!

Unless you want to wait until March, once amex post to your credit file (Experian) you can app for the Chase Sapphire Preferred. The whole myth about having to wait and show chase that you know how to manage a $5000 or higher limit is BS. Prior to my CSP, I had a $700 cap 1, and barely approved Citi 7k dividend (3 weeks). I applied and was instantly approved for 7k. But congrats on the approvals
