EXPRESS store card pre approval

Hi, i got a preapproval pop up while checking out on express.com and got the 7-10 day message. Does this mean I got denied? Will this be a soft or hard pull? And which bureau do they usually pull? I am currently rebuilding and recently got approved for a walmart and chevron gas card.

The pre-approvals that pop up on any WFNNB backed store site are always a soft pull. I actually received the same kind of deal when pre-approved for The Buckle store card. But after 3 recon attempts I was finally granted approval. So don't give up. 7-10 doesn't necessarily mean denial.

I got a 7-10 day message as well on chase freedom a few months ago and reconned 4 times with no luck .. only ones i had luck on were my walmart card with $500 CL and chevron gas card with $400 CL.... and also another CAPONE with $500 CL that I got approved on last march (my second one).. am just hoping I can get a mixed of different cards to rebuild and I do love to shop at express.... I can't stop applying .....

is there a recon number I can call for Express? I tried calling the actual card number and the help number online but no luck. TIA

When they pre-approved me, they did the SP on EQ.

You should be able to get it....try calling customer service and then getting to an operator. I used 1-800-201-4955

Thanks!! I called but they said they didnt have anything on file for me and told me to try again. I know its only a soft pull but not sure if I should wait or not. I was approved a month ago for a Buckle and Victoria's Secret card so I thought this would be an easy card for me

For the first time ever this trick worked for me with this store. I wanted to accept it but then i remember ive never shopped there before.

Have you tried to see if the pre-approval came back up again?

I spend like 15 mintues in the checkout screen and no pop up came up... I filled all the info and nothing.

I tried again the the pre-approval pops up but there is not a pre-approved amount. I called and they still dont have me in the system and I still have not received anything in the mail from them.

Did it give the final approval? I waited until the next day to call into the CS and it was able to give me the limit then...

kobe2012, I received the same message as you. I called in, and they had no record of my application. I actually went back about 5 times and accepted the "preapproval offer" and never received any correspondence in the mail. No inquiriesl, either. I gave up.
