Amex 3xcli SUCCESSFUL!!! To $10.5k

Holy moly!!!!!!
So, against the forum's advice, I requested a 3xcli from $3.5k to $10.5k and was approved!!!!

I was bored and actually just called Customer Service to ask them when I'd be eligible for a cli on Amex, and they said after 60 days after APPROVAL!
I clarified a few specs as usual. The nice rep asked if I wanted to go ahead and request one, so I did... And

BAM! Cli to $10.5k. I think a $7,000 cli is the highest cli Ive ever received... Not even GECRB has given me one that large!!

So I got approved on 10/01/12.
Got approved for a 3xcli on 12/02/12!!!!

While the Amex 3xcli has a lot of confusion on this forum... Were it not for the valuable info here, I'd not even have this dream card!!!!! I'm fairly certain they used a sp from 11/21/12.

My usage has been to charge about $500 or $600 a month and pif. Now that I have a huge line with 0%. I may revolve a small bal on it and pay down my Paypal MC bal. Haha

Yay!!!!!! Hope someone can learn something from my experience :-)
Oh! And my Exp FICO is between 700 and 750.

Thats awesome man good for you! I'm at day 33/60, from approval but only about 2 weeks since activation. I think I'll call when I do mine too.

Yay!!!!! You guys can do it! That wait was lonnnggg and hard, but I can't believe I did it!!! I'm only 23, and my responsibility managing my credit has def paid off!! It has been stressful at times to remember to pay my bills and to remain employed to pay my bills! I never imagined I would have a $10.5k AMEX!!!!!!!!! I have the BCE btw!! It is literally the only card in my wallet now!!!

Btw, I think my experience indicates that the 61 days starts from APPROVAL, NOT ACTIVATION. Obvi, ymmv.

Thanks!!!! I think I check my reports more than my creditors do btw lol... I wonder if they can see me sp'ing my own report checking their sp on my report lol!

They based it on an Exp soft pull btw!

i sure they can but i wonder how you can check if some1 soft you ??? I try the disputed method but it didnt work that way. ;-(

Whats the policy on asking for higher than a 3x limit increase? I recently took a job offer that will give me about a 17k raise, so I would be looking for a higher CL than 3k.

I'm pretty sure the idea of the SP is that no one else can see that. Only hard inquiries are visible to creditors.

You have to pull your exact/actual report to see if you are getting sp'ed. They are listed in the "credit inquiries viewed only by you" section of a real report. Credit Karma, Quizzle, etc. will not show you sps.
I dont think you can get a higher than 3xcli at a time with Amex-not sure though. And if you want higher than $25k, they will want tax/income info.

Yeah... That makes sense now that Im thinking about it-that only you can see the sps. Hahah. Credit is such a game. Timing when to app or get clis haha.

You would have to pull your own report directly from Equifax/Transunion/Experian. If you get it from Credit Karma, Quizzle or FICO, they are the ones requesting your report from the CRA, so they don't get the information on soft pulls. Soft pull information is only available to you, not a third party requesting it like CK, Quizzle or FICO.

You can pull your report from each of the three major bureaus once a year for free. This is something EVERYONE should do to check for fraud, appropriate reporting, etc...

If you get denied credit, including a cli, you get a free copy of the report used as well. Also, pretty sure the CRAs will let you view your reports for free if you need to "dispute" something. Check Experian.com/reportaccess , transunion.com/myoptions, equifax.com/fcra

Congrats OP!

To the soft pull questions: Third parties can't see your SPs, thus Credit Karma, Sesame, even myFico can't report to you your SPs. You need to pull your report directly from the CRAs to see them. Experian however allows you to see your profile any time you start a dispute online, so if you begin the dispute process, you can see your full report including SPs for free. However this is just your EX pulls obviously.
