I LUV NFCU!!!!!

I love love love them, seriously, I'm gnna open a
nfcu fan club lol!!! So, i have been a member for about 8 mnths maybe a lil more or less cnt remember right now but less than a year. so i recently payed off all my credit cards and paid down my car note. Decided to ask them to increase my sad lil 500. Navchek limit and after 3 hrs bam 12,500 increase...i fell out of my chair. im never leaving this credit union ever!! Okay, happy dance time ;-)

I need to open up a LOC with them. Did they pull eq when they opened it or TU?

I went from 1500 to 6000 after a couple of months. If NFCU was a woman that owned a liquor store I would marry her!

Thanks everyone!!! Cageym...Lol...ur right, that id prime marriage criteria ;-) I'm sorry, idk what they pulled yet i just did it a few hours ago. I will post when i find out. Another good thing is that they only use 1 pull if is within 15 days. I was gonna ask for increase on my platinum card but am afraid to press my luck.

Rootpooty, sorry i had a brain freeze. They pulled eq for the initial open, idk if they pulled same for the increase. I must have spent to much time on the happy dance...no blood left in da brain :-)

Isn't NAVCHECK just overdraft protection?

NavChek is a Line of Credit (LOC) that you can borrow against with the checks that they provide, or if you overdraw your checking account the funds will be covered by the NavChek. So it's not just overdraft protection, as you can use it without overdrawing your account by writing out one of the checks.

Oh, OK, cool. It is overdraft protection -- and a whole lot more... Coincidently, I have been thinking about it and decided that I would check them out and perhaps apply...It did not take long to realize that I definitely do not qualify. My dad and grandfather were in the navy, but that doesn't help me now because they aren't retired and receiving annuities.

Yea, sounds good but idk. I'm happy with the Increase and don't really need any more on my card as that limit is pretty decent. Was tempting though :-). Thanks to everyone!!

it also reports on your credit report like a credit card, even if you never use it, it won't get closed for inactivity

I knew it reported as a revolver but didn't realize that it wouldn't be closed for inactivity, thanks for the info! I am so tempted to ask them to increase my credit card as they said it that they would use the same pull but I am just not sure if that is accurate...so tempted to try my luck :-(

lol i love it cause it's the "incase **bleep** happens account"

but remember it's probably best to use convience checks through your credit card with them which is basically the samething. credit cards at Navy federal with convience checks don't charge advance fees in my experience (jus used $15,000 last month) and lower interest rate than NavChek, besides it's safer for your finances

Wow! Congrats. I have been with NFCU since August. I have checking, savings, and just opened a secured CC two months ago. I can not wait to grow with them and have my own stories like this.
