Capital One CLI

I have had a Capital One credit card for about 2 years. A couple months after getting it, I got an auto CLI from $1000 to $1500 but have been unable to get a CLI since. I did a search for executive office email address and found four that I used to send an email saying that I have always been told I was ineligible for CLIs anytime I called and would use my card more if I had a higher CL. I also requested to be changed to a card where I could earn cash back.

I sent the email last Wednesday evening and a very nice man from the executive office called me the following day. He told me that I would have to apply for a new card if I wanted a card with rewards but that he can help with the CLI request. He asked be some questions like income, rent paid, etc. Then he asked me what CL I would like to request. I said $5000. He asked me if I would accept something lower if they couldn't approve that amount and said that it would depend on what they countered with but would consider a lower amount. He told me he would send my request to the underwriting department and call me back when he heard back from them, which takes 2 -3 days.

This morning he called me back. I was approved for $5000 and that my online account was updated.

My background: TU 690 and EQ 685 (two weeks ago), bankruptcy 2005, no lates, less than 10% util every month, highest CL is $7500 but not reporting yet, next highest is $4900 then $4000. I have 8+ inquiries on each report because of new credit this year and a new car purchase. I don't remember even having a conversation about pulling my credit report with Capital One for this and nothing has shown up yet on my USAA monitoring.

Awesome. Congrats. I have the Cap1 Cash Rewards starting 2k CL. I am in credit step program.. so I get like 500? So, 2.5k CL forever? LOL
