I recently got into improving my credit about a year ago, started with like a 540 or something ridiculous and all I had was a $300 secured wells fargo card.

Have had this for about a year and a half and converted it to an unsecured card and moved up to a Chase Freedom, Capital One QS 1, AMEX BCE, and on credit karma (which I know is FAKO) my TU was 667 and My EQ was 674.

Now i'm still very cautious about applying for cards and CLI and such but last week on thursday i applied and was approved for a DISCOVER IT and then the following day (friday) I applied and was approved for a CSP even though CK said my odds were "fair" and after doing some looking around it would seem that your score would atleast have to be in the 700s to get approved for the card.

So what range exactly would it be safe to say my real score would be in?

I did the same thing. Actually, I have a summer car that had like $1600 left on the loan so I put that on the csp and paid it off. Then I bought a winter car and ran that through the card and paid it off. Its extremely smart as long as you pif.

The reason I would be so hesitant to actually get the car is becausethe CSP doesnt have 0% interest the first year, so that 4000 purchase + interest is somewhere near 4600 and some change, with interest on it every month.

Congrats!

On my own CSP approval (which wasn't instant but just required identity verification steps), Chase granted me 8500 initial CL and my EX FICO 8 was 670-something at the time.

Having a banking relationship with Chase *definitely* helps.
