Amazon Store Card Approval - $700 - WHOO!

I had been on the fence for apping for this card for a long while now since I use Amazon constantly...I like the financing offers for big purchases since every big purchase I make is through amazon for the most part.

I had read through about 20 pages of threads on this "card" and checked whogavemecredit.com and felt like I was pretty likely to be approved, minus my high utilization showing (73% showing...not actual though! Dont yell at me! )

Anyway, I got up the nerve and hit submit...instant approval for $700!

Not a huge limit but this along with a $250 CLI from Capital One today has been pretty nice.

When do they autio CLI? Can I reuqest a CLI? How soon, etc?

You can request an increase online after your 4th statement cuts. And then 8th and so forth.

Wow...thats fast. So that should possibly bump my score slightly from the extra open utilization ya think?

For me, I prefer later reporting, I hate it when it reports before I even get new plastic.

Ahh...well yeah i guess this doesnt matter as there is no "plastic" involved! haha (i think they just send a paper card)

Its not actually that high...it just reported balances before I paid. Also, i need a significant items I was ordering from amazon anyways...calculated risk i suppose...if it wasnt approved it would be only 1 inquiry on TU which has none...so it would of been the end of the world i suppose...

Congrats on the new TL. I think GE is a good bank to have an account with. I just had my first Amazon statement, so I'll be hitting that LUV button sometime in December

Does it really have a bad feel/look? Ive always heard that about this card, BTW Congrats on approval your in good hands with GE.

The feel of it is reminiscent of how they do medical or dental insurance cards these days. It's not a thick plastic like a typical credit card. I guess this makes sense, as you'd never have to physically present the card anywhere.

yep, the card is terrible. Its basically paper with a laminated back side... lol. Its not to big of a deal considering one has no need to carry it around. Its ok though, Amazon doesn't send me junk mail to my home address or email, their website is nicely designed, and I've always had good service.

Congrats! I got approved for $700 as well back in May....and was one of my highest limits. Now 3 months later I got instant approved in 1 week for Chase Freedom, Chase Sapphire Preferred, Discover It, and American Express Blue Cash Preferred, all higher than my highest limits prior to the app spree. Hopefully sign of better things to come!

I will be aiming for a soft pull CLI after my 4th statement as everyone on here has advised, love me some Amazon!
