I was recently approved for a Discover It Chrome with $1000 CLI. Really excited about it!

Just want to ask, what is the difference between regular and chrome?

Congrats!

The regular discover it card is a 1% cashback card, and offers rotating 5% categories quarterly.

The discover chrome card offers 2% cashback on gas an dining and only 1% from everything else, no rotating categories.

What is the "5% rotating categories" all about?

(I know that this has nothing to do with me since I have Chrome, but I would like to know anyway)

The 5% rotating categories change every quarter. When you have a Discover card, there is a section at the top of your online interface that lists the categories for each quarter. The categories might include home improvement, retail, gas, groceries, etc. Once you activate the categories for that quarter, you will receive 5% cash back for that quarter when purchasing within that quarter's categories.

Right now DIscover is also offering 10% cash back when you use Apple Pay, which is really a fantastic deal,

Welcome to the Discover family. As to the Apple Pay and Discover, just use your card on Apple Pay and Discover will do the rest. (edited for spelling)

Make sure you're using Apple Pay in an Apple Retail store for that 10% bonus....doesn't apply to purchase made in the Apple Store app, iTunes, or Apple Online.

my apologies I read that totally backwards you can use it in any retail store in person and get the bonus just not inside an app or online.

That's right! It is good in Subway, too.
