Discover increase finally

After trying and trying for the past 5 months (after a $500 increase) Discover gave me a decent increase for my profile anyway. I know many have gotten way more than this, but this is pretty big for me.

Thank you. It's one of my oldest lines (2 years). The cli's came fast and early. Started at 6500 and was up to 12k within 6 months. Those were the good discover days for me.

I closed my Discover IT card after 1 year I had asked for an increase after six months then at a year then kept giving excuses so maybe I should re-apply now to see if they start me off with a higher limit. But Congrats to you on your new limit increase.

I think they are willing to give increases. It's just about how much of an increase. They tend to like usage IMO. I only use mine for the BT option

I am still trying to my first CLI. Started at $1,500 6 months ago.

Keep getting denied for new account and inquiry verbage.

I didn't think they were that sensitive.

Oh I have a ton of inquiries and new accounts but always got the message that insufficient experience with current credit limit

Thanks for the feedback.

I got the same "insufficient experience with current credit limit" for the first 5 months.

Now, I just have the too many inquiries and new accounts issue to get past. I hate to miss a CLI opportunity, but 6 more months will not kill me.

I would be highly disappointed when I do get the first CLI that it turns out to be only for $200-$300.

I did BT the account up to 50% of CL. Maybe I should ride it up to 90% and sock drawer it until the balance is paid down. Monthly usage on most of my non-store accounts are not getting me any results. (AMex, Barclay, BofA, WF, US Bank and Discover.

Capital One has been good to me so far but I am up against a wall with them now on scores and credit exposure.

I'll put that on my to do list in 2016. Unless BBVA opens up other cards for me in Ohio it ain't happening
