OMG Citi/AAdvantage Platinum Select World Mastercard approved!!!!!!

Well, my boss called me a couple hours ago to tell me he wants me to fly out in two weeks to southern Cal. At first I was going to use one of my cards to pay for the flight, probably Venture One, but since I'm getting reimbursed for expense I said what the heck let me see what's out there as far as a CC. I went to southwest and wasn't feeling the fares plus their card is backed by Chase and said that's going to a be a BIG FAT NO on the CC. So I went on to the next one which was American Airlines. Right off the bat I liked their fare price and times so I started the process to book the flight. And I got to the screen with the 50k offer but just didn't know if I would get approved but bit the bullet and applied. It took a little over 30 seconds, which by that time I was feeling good since in my experience when an app quickly comes back with a decision it's a denial and when it takes its time is usually the app needs more review or approved. Screen came back with the approval to the tune of 5k SL. Apr stink at 21.9% but annual fee is waived the first year.

I wanted to jump and scream but everyone is asleep. This approval means a lot since I burned Citi on a Home Depot card. I had yet to apply for something from them but I had been checking their prequal site and nothing, not surprised. Glad that they're giving me a second chance.

The only mistake I think I made was apping through mobile. When I got to the 50k offer screen it mentioned that the app would open in a new screen but for some reason the window for the reservation close. I had to start a new reservation which I put on hold. I log in to my account and no card appears. Am I screw here and am I going to have to use a different card?

Forgot to mentioned they pulled EQ and the score that they gave me was a 674 and still have that dreaded BK in there. Huge surprised I got approved to say the least.

I was recently approved for this card. I spent almost $1,000, paid 90% back already but did get 30K miles immediately. I loved the card, when I fly AA I'm always grouped in group 1 and I also love the fist checked bag is free. Luv the card, you will too, enjoy

So I got a letter in the mail and it only had a po box number in St. Louis and when I opened it said Citi and had a new card. My first thought was if my card got compromised and they sent me a replacement since I didn't order one. When I removed it from the paper I saw that it said World Elite Mastercard on the back of the card. I guess I was upgraded because of the spending I have put, maybe. I just reached the min spend last monday and my old card was just a World MC

What is the difference in the benefits of a World Elite MC than just a World MC and what coud've triggered this upgrade? This is my first World Elite MC
