My partner has the Penfed Promise approved for $5k I don't know (less than 6 months back)

He received a spend $1000, get $100 cash back bonus for the holidays... He had pretty much only used the account for $50 or less since opening but this offer we took up... Statement just got a week or so ago and scheduled a payment for the full $950'ish due...

He requested a CLI and instantly got:

Congratulations!

Your application has been approved for a credit line of $20,000.00.

How is Penfed with 2nd accounts credit cards?

or do you think this would be good time to CLI the thrifty account?

or just leave it because that's awesome!

That's awesome, my rewards visa is also at 5k and I've had it for about 6 months. I just hate the fact that it's a HP for the CLI. Was the specific limit asked for?

Congrats, would you mind sharing your partners scores ? The reason I am asking is I have an account with Pentagon but was denied several months ago so I want to have sense of what scores make sense for me to risk another HP.

PenFed is okay with 2nd cards, but remember there cap for CC exposure is $50k. LOC and Thrifty are not included in that total only the plastic.

It might be interesting to wait until the new limit shows on the account page and then hit the cli button again. You've got nothing to lose since they reuse the HP. Since your partner has been putting some spending on the card there might be a chance for a 2nd large cli. I recently got 2 large cli's only a month apart. The card had seen significant usage for only one month. I think that this was a major factor in getting the 2nd cli.

I was approved for the Visa in APR2015 for $5K. I, too, received the Holiday E-mail and hit the luv button. I received the "your application is referred to a loan officer for a descision" message.

Oh well, it was worth a try.

When I applied for CLI for my Platinum Visa Rewards I got also the same message but after about 2 days it was being update as "Transferred". Once it says Transferred on your status that means it is Approved! ... just patiently wait for it ... Penfed is generous ... Goodluck!

It's been a year since I applied for the promise and amex and have itch for the CL but don't want to burn a HP with a risk they might denied it. Have someone here try it with a denial, also with the new credit system they use it shows my score is 649 which is low.

UPDATE: My CLI was rejected because I "Walk like an Egyptian". Too bad because I was going to do a BT to them.

I am 0 for 2 on a CLI. So Navy Federal is a significantly better CU than PenFed as far as my CLIs have been concerned.
