JC Penny CLI of 4k thru Credit Solutions - now 10k

After losing a small credit line due to inactivity, I decided to hit the luv button on my Discover and JCP to make up for the future hit to my utilization . Discover came thru as they allways seem to for me, but JCP turned me down for not enough activity at current credit limit. I remembered seeing a post by SunriseEarth a while back about how he or she had called credit solutions and asked for a SP increase ont his card so I gave it a shot.

Note, although I called one of the backdoor numbers, I had to be transfered to 866-519-6441. I asked to be moved from 6k to 15k and they instead offered me 10k. I took it, of course!

By the way, for those who are interested, this is my only store card and I've had it for 17years. In fact, I had forgotten about it until I pulled my credit report 6 years ago and saw it siting there. it was the only open card I had at the time and it had ben CLD to a credit limit of 123.00. I was so embarressed when I asked them to send it to me, but with steady use and maticulous pay off it has grown well. Thanks to this forum and Sunriseearth particularly, it is now at 10K.

Very glad to hear it! JCP has been a big favorite of mine in my rebuild. AFAIK, $10K may be as high as JCP goes, so that's definitely a big accomplishment.

BTW, if you need activity for the card, Rite Aid still accepts JCP in-store. Sephora.com also accepts the JCP card.

I wouldn't be surpised if you're right about the 10k. I won't bother them for anymore CLI requests.
