AMEX BCE Approved!

I am in shock. I never thought I would be approved for an Amex product at this stage of the rebuilding process. I am only 6 weeks out of a SL rehab with my scores all hovering between 650 and 665. I decided to take a shot at the AMEX BCE after taking a look at my normal usage of the Cap1 cards that I have and the AMEX rewards on BCE. Just the grocery rewards alone make it a great move for me. AMEX approved me immediately with a CL of $5000. This is my highest limit thus far (next closest is $3500 on a Cap1 QS card with a $700 balance).

I thank you all for your advice over the last 9 year and still can't believe I got approved. It's all possible, folks. My only question is whether or not backdating is a real thing. I have 2 relatves who would be willing to add me as an AU that have had AMEX cards for a long time. I don't want to have them do it, though, if it won't actually help. Thoughts?!?!

Also asked WalMart for a CLI and got up to $700 from $500. Amazon not so nice...lol. Lowe's is prefty darn new, so I won't bother until at least 3-4 months in.

Congrats on the BCE! It's my favorite card.

Did you do Walmart & Amazon via chat? For some reason with Synchrony I can't get any luv via the button, but they are always very helpful via chat. I can't even get like a $100 increase via the button, but can get thousands via chat. It's really odd.

The Walmart increase was simply from the luv button. The Amazon decline was the same. Maybe I should chat with them and I'll see a better result.

I just looked on my Amazon account and the chat isn't available right now. I don't know why, perhaps they are busy due to Cyber Monday. Try again later today or tomorrow. It will appear as available at some point.

There is no backdating it was stopped six or seven months ago.

There is no backdating it was stopped six or seven months ago.

I was approved for BCE recently, I'm AU on a business card couple as of years ago, my BCE shows Member Since 2012 instead of 2015 that showed online.

Just received the card today, love the look of it.
Went online and requested CLI to $3,000 and was approved! Was hesitant to push my luck for more!

Upon activating CSR came on line to talk about my rewards, they also moved my membership back to 2012 because of AU account that I have through business. Wondering if it'll back dates to 2012. All and all so far so good.

It will show the earlier membership date on their website but in the CRA's your acount will show the date it was opened.
