Jared Pending! Update

I was looking for a Christmas present for my mom, decided to apply online. It was about an hour before they closed between Pacific and Eastern time zones. It gave me decision pending within an hour. About 30 minutes later they said a decision was made. It gave me 20 day notice, it doesn't look too good. I have a lot of new accounts, nothing negative:

After taking two pay stubs to the store I was approved for $5400

I have that card and I hate it.

i keep using it but regret it every time.

but....they did give me credit when I had none and needed it the most.....

just hate the way you payment is a non variable rate installment all the way down to zero.

I might have failed the security questions. I'll try calling tomorrow or Friday depending if they're open. What's your limit Cmikul?

Its weird.

the actual limit is $7600 but I have buying ability up to $10,005

my first initial purchase was $10,225.... It all went thru.

on my reports it shows the $10k value as my limit.

Strange but but it helps my utilization look better so all the better

Thanks for the info. They're an oddball lender I guess. I was debating between Jareds and Kay's but Jared has that pendant. I heard Kays is more likely to give instant decision.

Kays and Jared are the same creditor. I heard they split the credit line if you have both. I had to wait for an hour for decision. Did you answer the security question correctly?

I have both Jared and Kay's they allow me 1 limit for both cards which is $4000.

It may be simple income verification.

Some time back I app'd for this card and recall the letter came with a request to take the letter and a paystub to the store.

They called it in and completed the app.

+1 Its a verification thing. Some of the questions they asked were so obscure that they didn't even match my file. I went to the store and they processed it over the phone with me there and it all worked out. When I called in to ask what the problem was they said to go to the store with my ID and have them complete it at the store. I have the Kay card to get stuff for the wife to be.

Ok you all are right. I just called and they told me to take a pay stub and ID into a store to finish processing. I'll have to wait until Monday or Tuesday, I can't deal with the Black Friday shoppers and drivers.

Seems it's for verification, your approved they just want to make sure your legit. You should be able to shop as soon as your verified. Enjoy

I am surprised a pay stub in store. I got this card about 5 years ago and didn't need a stub. I guess maybe more weird to bring the stub to the store then to mail or fax in. Best of luck!

With my "stub", I can picture them looking at it through one of those jeweler lenses, whether in the store or in an office. The store might actually work out better for me.

I have had the kays card for about 4 years now, it has a 5,000 limit, I applied for Jared, and I got a 3,000 limit from them. I check my kays limit and it is still the sam 5,000 so I have 2 separate limits.

Zales is also in a giving mood, I got their card for 1,500, not much but nice of citi because about 9 years ago they closed my other zales card and it became a collection that I eventually paid in full.

I apped to Jared the other day. CK scores in 620's and I had to call customer service after the online app to verify info.
I was asked to go into a local store and show ID and paystubs and I was approved for a $5k limit and $6500 purchase limit
Made a christmas purchase on this limit and two days later apped for kays and was email approved (1 hour later) for the same amount.
I checked to make sure it was in fact two separate accounts and it was. So the new $10k will definitely help me on my "road to recovery" while I chase the 700's
I would just seldomly use these cards and ONLY BUY WHAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY AFFORD or they will kill you on the payments. Fairly easy to get approved and will definitely keep my uti extrmely low as I never go above 10% on any one card at a time anyhow. Hope this helps someone!

Thanks Eric and Traveler! I won't try Zales because Citi is definitely not in the giving mood for me lately. I'll go into Jared with my pay studs tomorrow depending on sigalert for the 605 (I'm in LA).
