Also, this is the lowest of ANY of my cards. The lowest before this was $5000. I've never been approved for such a low limit.

You have probably hit you current internal limit with them is most likely the case. You can call them and have them move some CL's around from another card or two to get the limit up to a more useable limit without any pulls on your CR. Hope this helps.

Congrats on the approval btw!

Congratulations! Mine started out at only $1k and that was after a manual review for hitting internal limits at the time. I maxed it out the first month and PIF, by the 2nd statement or so they gave me an auto cli to $2k and then since then I had incrased it by transferring to $2500 a while ago and just recently to $3500. By far my most frequently used card since I eat out a lot.

Cngrats on your approval! Do you have a lot of inquiries? What is your current utilization? These two things could have had an impact on your approval.

Utilization is less than 1%. I have maybe 5 inquiries. I think I've just hit my ceiling with Chase but it's okay. I am only using this card for the sign up bonus and the times where I don't use my chase sapphire preferred.

I was just curious because my first approvals by Chase started at 5k about 2-3 years ago.
