Small Chase Credit Limit Increase

Small Chase Freedom Credit Limit Increase but I'm happy as can be!!

Have been building my credit from a 523 score since Jan unti today. I've had a Chase Freedom Card since April 2015, and never seen an auto CLI.

From reading on MyFico it seems Chase can be a bit scrooge like with auto CLI's. Most my cards have low limits, which with my income is just fine with me. Don't want a lot, don't need a lot.

My Chase Freedom CL was $1200. Since I am not applying for any cards or applications until (wait let check my "spade" and see-LOL!), well let's say for sometime.

I thought I'd bite the bullet and take a TU HP since it has the least with a 721 score, and ask Chase for a CLI. Called on the phone (tonight Dec14) and spoke to a credit analyst. She confirmed that it would a TU HP, and asked how much I would like to request. She asked did I want to request $5K?, and I told her NO, that would be too much for my request. Said $1k would be fine with me. 10 seconds later she said it was approved and available immediately.

*For those who might say that I should have allowed the $5k request to go through, I do not have the income to have a $5k increase to a card and justify it. My Freedom Card is now a comfortable $2200, and that's perfect for my financial situation. I couldn't be happier.

I think we can all agree that each of our credit and financial situations are different, and there is nothing better than to have that situation fit nicely into our lifestyles.

I have to say again, that all my successes and experiences has come 90% from these sections and this forum of knowledgeable people.

I now sport a TU Score =721, EQ = 697, and EX 640 (1 bad).

Capital One Credit Tracker Score = 736

Discover It Fico Score = 710

Utilization as of Dec14 is 5%

Oldest Account = 11 months

AAoA = 6 months

Grats and hats off to you for being realistic about credit limits. For many card issuers time and performance will open the door for increases. Chase has been tight over time but of late ... seems the rules are a changing.
