Barclays $2000 SP CLI and APR Reduction

Woohoo! While I wallow in the garden, I've decided to work on building up my credit lines, so I called the number on the back of my Wyndham Visa to try the "APR reduction" trick. I asked to have my APR reduced and I was transferred to the retention department, where a very friendly rep, Jane, was able to lower my APR from 19.99% to 15.99%. She also proactively offered a SP CLI without me having to ask for it. She asked for my income, and then boom! $2000 CLI! I'll take it!

Now, if only they would upgrade my Wyndham Platinum Visa to a Visa Signature -- that would make really me happy!

EDIT: I just noticed this CLI puts me $100 from $80,000 in credit, lol. So close!

Congrats on that Jay! thats awesome. I tried the trick, got someone in India land, and told me I wasn't eligible, I asked to be transferred to retentions, but that transfer ended up in a disconnect, LOL..Ill try again next week, hoping to get someone in US

Yeah, don't give up, Pizza! My customer service experiences with Barclays have been more all-over-the-place than with any other lender -- you may have just had a bad one, but if you keep trying, you may get a good one who can help.
