Decided to apply for a few new cards today. FICO scores are currently 704 EX, 694 EQ, 675 TU so I was cautiously optomistic that I wouldn't waste inquiries. The last half of last year I was approved for 2 Chase cards (Amazon, Sapphire Preferred) and 2 CapOne cards (QS & Venture), after starting my rebuild two years ago with my only card being an authorized user on my mother's Delta Gold Amex card and scores in the low 500's.

Anyway, I had received a invitation from Discover it, in the mail yesterday and applied online and was instantly approved for $11,500.

I was going to stop there but then I thought since my rebuild was going so well, I should apply for my own Amex so I could keep the relationship with them, and then close the authorized user account on the Delta card (never use it anymore and I'm always worried that my mom will miss payments and hurt my score). So I log in and check the pre-quals and it throws up the Premier Rewards Gold Card and the Blue Cash Preferred.

Bang, instantly approved for the Premier Rewards Gold. Get 50,000 point bonus after a small spend. But it has a fairly high annual fee. Will decide if I'll keep it next Jan.

So then I was going to stop there (again). Came here to look at the forums for a bit and maybe make this post, but saw a thread that was talking about more than one app with Amex only using a single inquiry if made on the same day. So I figure what the hell, and went back for the Blue Cash Preferred.

Bang, instantly approved for $10,000. Gets a $250 bonus after a small spend and a respectable annual fee.

Not a bad day. I'm now up to $76,000 in revolving credit. feelsgoodman

Congrats on your approvals. By the way just thinking how you mention that you might not keep the PRG card once the AF hits. One thing you could do is get the Everyday card (which has a 25k bonus if you serch for it) and you can move your membership points from the Gold to the Everyday (if you choose to cancel.) Just a thought I share with you this. The BCP is a great card especially if you Market alot.......

The normal bonus listed on the Amex website is $150 after 1k spend, but when I went thru the pre-qual after signing in it gave me the $250 offer instead.

That's a good idea and is exactly what I was thinking. Hopefully later in the year they will tease it with a larger bonus and I'll jump on it then. I actually started to get the BCE card instead of the BCP because in my pre-qual it listed that card and the bonus was 30k points, but I wanted the 6% cash back on groceries.
