You are the first person I have seen who actually got the State Department credit card unsecured. What made you go for it? Just curious. It is one I would like to get in time.

A response to another thread I had where I mentioned I was looking for a low fixed rate. They said the SDFCU was fixed. I found out AFTER I got approved it was variable. The rates and fess part was not anywhere near where you would expect to find them on the site so i only noticed it on the final paperwork. (My Bad).

process was not typical. They request POI and strictly enfore DTI rations less that 40-50% over all TL including mortgage, etc...

@Currently @7.25% not sure how useful it will be other than a balance card. The rewards are not explained at all really until you are approved so that is TBD.

Fico 8 Scores are 790-810. Credit card scores are mid 700's.

SDFCU did pull Experian. It was not the secured card

Updated with new results....

I saw I was pre-qual with Citi so I had to go for it since I was on their blacklist from a 1998 bk. Last time I applied from a mailer I got denied due to that even though it was long off of my credit report.....

No to take advice from the forums and put some spend on cards I have not had any activity on in the last 5 years lol.....Not much, do not want to spook them...

This forum is a blessing AND a curse!
