Capital one PC SUCCESS!!!!

I was able to product change my cap one No Hassles Rewards to a venture one card today... Kinda shocked when they gave me my choice of the new cash rewards OR venture, I was mainly just trying to pc to one with no annual fee. It's the only card I have with an annual fee opened in in 2008 with 500 limit (crefit steps to 750 then jumped to 3250 where it has stayed) but was my first rebuilder, well second actually. I already closed my cap one platinum card with 500 limit a few years ago. Anyways, there IS hope.

Congrats, they PCd me from platinum to a rewards card a little bit ago. They gave me the option of cash or travel and I picked cash. We're part of a rare group of Cap1 PC'ers haha.

They pc'ed my husbands platinum to a cash rewards a few months ago too, since we have the cash rewards one I chose the venture with no fee. I was offered the upgrade via online chat and he got an email saying he was eligible to pc.

Can you please tell us HOW you did it? Did you call, use online agent, get a mail offer, electronic offer?

I just decided to do the online chat and ask for an upgrade to the better cash rewards card with no annual fee because I had the no hassle rewards card that earned 1% plus 25% of my annual rewards total. The new cash card makes better since. And I told them I had NO other cards with a fee. He said I had an offer in the system to upgrade the the cash or travel rewards card. I chose the venture with no fee. Also asked for a cli....NO go on that, didn't expect it either lol... Always worth a try...lol

I did it in an online chat as well. I was asking a question about something else and then they did the "Can I help you with anything else today?" and I just asked and said "I doubt that it's available since my account is 2 weeks old, but will I ever be able to add rewards on?"

They transfered me to a different department through online chat, and they went "Congratulations, you're elligible for an upgrade, cash or miles?"

I just tried this and got shot down. Said I had no offers on my card. Bummer, I hate paying an annual fee. I'm going to close my Capital One cards after I get a mortgage and app spree

Annual fees are a bummer. I got lucky and applied for my platinum through a special mail offer thing , which had AF waived for life of the account, and when they PCd me it transferred over to my cash rewards card. To make back your money on the cash rewards card you'd have to spend $3900 not counting the 50% annual bonus, not sure how to travel rewards convert for airline tickets.

Congrats on the conversion, perhaps Capital One is beginning to loosen up a bit. I've never had one of their cards but the Venture looks pretty good and until several of my other cards did away with foreign transaction fees I had planned on getting one. I thought the Venture cards were Signature cards and required a $5,000 limit, so you did well if they gave you one.

I didn't know this was possible. So, I did the same and I chatted with a rep. Told him, I wanted to upgrade from my Plat-visa card to a rewards card. He offered 2 choices the new cash back card or the venture card. I accepted the 1%cash back card, with 50% bonus cash back earning at the end of the year ans $0 annual fee!!! My current limit is $4750. I didn't ask for a CLI.

If you log on to your capital one account, there is a section in there to see if you currently have any offers from them. I would check there every so often. If there's nothing, that's what the rep is going to tell you.

Nah, I got PCd without there being anything in my "Modify Your Features" section.

I had no offers in that section in my onlline account, but when I spoke to a rep, I was told I did in fact have 2 offers. Maybe they don't update this section often.

I think they just leave it blank to dissuade you from calling and asking for a PC/upgrade. haha.

I have a regualr rebullder unsedure card with them and I was told a PC from this card is not possible. I will have ot re-apply for the card that I want.

Does Cap One still pull all 3 for a card?

Yes they do. Haha. What's your limit if you don't mind me asking? I read somewhere they're more likely to PC if you have a high limit on one of the "average" card.

You inspired me to successfully PC my Chase flat card I was a WaMu convert) to Freedom in order to get some rewards. Did it just a few minutes ago.

Am holding my Cap Platinum card to combine it with my HSBC card once combining is allowed. The HSBC card has an older age and higher CL. Will see what happens.

Once you log in to your CC account it is directly on top of you account list. If it doesn't show up (which happens sometimes) try searching chat now in the vustomer service search bar. That usually works for me. Good Luck!"
