WalMart Store Card Approvals

I've been rebuilding my credit for 12 months. Finally got my fico tu score to 663 and EQ to 650. Still have a few baddies that will fall off soon. Current on Cap one platinum 500 limit, QS1 2000 limit and Merrick Bank 700 limit. Also installment loan at credit union and auto loan at credit union that's perfect. Any chance of getting in the door for Walmart store card?

Are you wanting to apply now? If so wait and let the baddies fall off, that way you will have a better chance of approval.

If you can afford the inquiry go for it. I was just saying in case you were interested in the MC version which you would need to have a higher score.

You shouldn't have a problem getting approved. I was instantly approved for the storecard with similar scores and less positive credit history.

Try Discover Card with your score, if you never had one before! They'll give you discount and few months with 0% APR.

I have Walmart CC and find it to be useless. They also don't like to give CLI much.

To each there own. I've had my walmart card for years and have gotten several cli's. If your profile supports it, they will give it to you.

They have great 0 interest offers and come in handy if you need quick cash at checkout.

Pretty good card as long as you don't keep a balance cause the interest can be a killer if your not careful.

If you want a Walmart cc, then your TU score of 663 will get you in the door.

I was recently approved for a Walmart credit card after applying in store. I've been denied twice after applying online. My current TU is 653 and I have 3 accounts in collections, 2 open CCs (Cap 1) with limits of $300 each, VS with $500, fingerhut with $1150, and student loans. I think you'll be fine. Wouldn't hurt to apply in store.

I also called Credit Solutions and asked for an increase the same day I was approved. Went from $1000 to $3500, so that is worth a shot as well.

Was in Sams over the weekend to buy membership and the lady told me I was pre approved for Sams Card!!! Started me with $500 limit and I can use it at Walmart also. Was planning on app for Walmart card. Do I still try for Walmart, and do I try for increase when I get my card?

I wouldnt, you can use the Sams card at Walmart. Give it a few months and ask for 10K

Thanks for all of the encouragement. I know the $500 SL is nothing to most, but a major step for me to get to this point.
