Lowes approval - $10K (now $17K)!

I applied for a Lowes acccount last night. Don't really need it but I've read that they have good starting limits and the card grows quickly. For that I considering it a utilization buster for the times that I want to carry higher balances than I usually do. I received a message to give them a call to complete the application. It was to late to do that last night so I did after I woke up this morning. Answered some questions then received a text to verify who I was. The rep put me on hold then came back about 20 seconds later and said I was approved for $2K. I asked if that could be increased a little so she transferred me to a different department. Went through the basic questions and was asked how much I was looking for. I origionally had $18K in mind. That would have given me a total of $100K in combined credit lines but I lowered it after the $2K approval. Went for $10K and got it. I believe I left some $ on the table but I can get that later this year. So now I'm just $8K away from my new goal and have a bunch of CLIs ahead of me this year!

They definitely seem to start off low. DW applied in store and was approved for 1800. Called credit solutions as soon as we got to truck. Asked for 25k , got 17k

Yes usually it is pretty common. I was approved for $300, asked for cli, no go. Maxed the card out, paid it off, and in 3 weeks went from $300 to $12K

Congrats! With your TU FICO 8, you should be able to get $17K exactly.

Yes i asked for it, over the course of 3 days because i was emberassed to ask $15K from $300 limit

Yes it is. I was approved for $1500. Immediately called and asked for $25k and got $12k. Repeated 3 weeks later and got $17k. I'll be asking for $35k this month.

Update- I just cleaned the table! I called back to see if they could increase my limit again. I've never been this aggressive with a credit line but I figured I'd try. Requested $20K and was approved for $17K. Just $1K short of my goal! I got to say, I was excited after that. On the outside I was like "Thank you for your help". On the inside, I was dancing around like Snoopy after he hit Powerball!

My my mini app spree gave me 3 new cards and increased my credit lines from $57K to $99K. THAT was totally worth it!!!
