Care Credit approval

Needing to replace the sound processor for my cochlear implant, will be about $2900 after my insurance pays. Applied for Care Credit, instant approval for $7000. They pulled TU which is my best score, 750. I'm going to call in tomorrow and request a higher starting limit as I want to keep utilization down on this card. I'll ask for $25k and let the chips fall where they may

I work in a clinic in Dallas that do the hook up/follow up/troubleshooting for children under age 18 that are implanted.....I had no idea the cost of the hold process until I came here 17 years ago. Good luck on getting your CareCredit increased & make SURE they take it where you're going (and I say that because we don't take it here).

Actually, I'm in Dallas as well. I said Cochlear implant but it's actually an auditory brainstem implant (ABI). I usually just say cochlear because more people are familiar with that and the sound processor is actually the same for both. I go to UTSW Otolaryngology for the mapping and adjustments.

mine went from 4k to 16800 but it was after a few years (i used it once)

So, waited 48 hrs for my account to get into the system, called in this morning and asked for a CLI from the initial $7k to $20k. They countered with $8400. My sound processor will cost me $2800 which I can pay off in 12 months 0% interest. Would have liked to get more to keep utilization in check, but oh well. I will make a couple of payments and try again.
