AMEX 3x CLI Sort Of Success

So my girlfriend got a BCP recently and the 61 day CLI time was ready. She was originally approved for $5300...

So i requested $15900 knowing full well it wouldnt be approved on a $30k income. She was approved for $1700 CLI to $7000.

Just FYI for others out there!

did you do any special spending?

would they give me an increase if im just using the card and pay it off fully and never really having a balance? or only posting less than 10% util?

Not that I know of...? I know there is like $1200 balance or so on there out of $5300...?

I'm curious ... can you ask for more than the 3x CLI or do we ask for 3x cause that is the max?

Asking for more than 3X is an automatic denial. And the American Express computers are programmed to counter-offer a lesser amount if necessary. So, asking for exactly 3X is the way to go, unless for some reason you don't want your credit card to have too high a limit.
